Master Yoga Instructor + Meditation Teacher

Trained in India, Mike has been a yoga instructor for 25 years. He incorporates an innate knowledge of the body with yoga adjustments.

Mike practices and teaches Vipassana Meditation, the Art of insight through stillness, silence and guided walking practice.

Utilizing the power of breath (Prana) in meditation, yoga and breathing, Mike gently moves one through the physical and psychological body toward healing. Mike also imparts practical skills necessary to enhance health, strength and flexibility.

As an avid ocean surfer and gifted artist, Mike's classes reflect his creativity and oneness with nature. His touch and teachings bring to his students - uplifting and life changing experiences. YOGA--Not just and exercise for health, but a complete Awareness of Body, Mind and Spirit leading to Happiness, Peace of Mind and Self Realization. Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced students will find a home in Mike's classes. A place to grow both inwardly and outwardly. The inner pose and the outer pose become congruent in the postures "asanas" in which helps on be, rather than looking to become. From Perfection to more perfection, the relaxation found in accepting ones body unconditionally, allows for deeper openings in yoga than one in which details of the pose alone are addressed. In combining learning the specifics of the postures along with touching ones deepest core feelings and self, students move to levels of yoga that brings healing, peace and self-love. Not only is a yoga class good for one to bring physical movement and exercise to ones life, observation of one self while in the postures develops the ability to witness ones thoughts, emotions and life. We are able to see that what we do on a moment to moment basis influences are health and well being, as we slow down, and reduce the frenetic and hurried pace of our lives. Yoga relaxes the nervous system, reducing if not eliminating depression, frustrations, energy leaks, and brings a synthesis to the body and mind. Clients that have not healed stress in their lives with just positive, thinking, counseling or medication, have found that with yoga one can cure what is ailing one self. Rather than years of self analysis, yoga integrates the experiential with the mind. No longer does one have racing thoughts and body aches and pains. Fears can be addressed through touching the postures directly, and releasing positive neurohoromones, like dopamine. Science is know finding yoga, can do wonders for balancing the endocrine system, the skeletal system, cardiovascular, muscular, circulatory, lymph and bring health to the organs. Yoga builds the foundation for the body to sit comfortable in stillness and silence so that the higher limbs of yoga; mediation and self realization may be experienced. Yoga (Style) description of classes

Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Students. Hatha yoga with background influence from Iyengar and Astanga formats integrated into a "flow" style. We begin class in a "vinyasa" style of rhythmic movements to warm muscles and joints while developing awareness of the breath. Class will also address alignment while developing flexibility, balanced with strength. Movement and held "asanas: develop mindfulness and depth of awareness. Class cools down, with finishing postures for integration, calmness and meditation.
